The snow finally arrived.
After weeks of waiting and watching webcams, we got the storms we needed. Upper elevations picked up enough coverage for our local mountains to start spinning chairs.
Here’s what’s happening this week:
Schweitzer Opened December 3rd
Schweitzer opened Tuesday with enough snow to get terrain ready. They’re welcoming skiers and riders now.
Check their webcams for current conditions and visit their website for lift status and ticket information.
Silver Mountain Opens Friday (December 5th)
Silver Mountain opens Friday with Chair 1 and Chair 2 running. Good coverage on upper mountain terrain means they’re ready to start the season.
As always, visit their webcams to see current snow conditions before you head up.
Lookout Pass Opens Friday (December 5th)
Lookout Pass also opens Friday. Lifts will be running from 11am to 3pm on Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday.

What This Means for Your Winter Plans
All three local mountains are now open. If you’ve been sitting on a season rental decision, now’s the time.
Season rentals include brand new 2025/2026 skis and snowboards from Nordica, K2, Blizzard, and Never Summer. Pick up your gear the day before you head to the mountain and you’re set for the entire season.
Already have your own gear? Bring it in for a tune-up. Opening day crowds mean long waits at mountain shops. Get your edges sharpened and bases waxed before you go.
Watch the Webcams
All three resorts have webcams showing current conditions. Check them before you drive up – especially early season when coverage can vary day to day.
Conditions will continue to improve as more storms move through. Early December snowfall usually means good coverage by the holidays.
